Day 23 Welcome to Peace, Within your Reach

safe_imageDay 23  I shall not want.

He gives us His abundance. We do not lack anything if we put our complete trust in Him. Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Day 22 Welcome to Peace, Within your Reach

safe_imageDay 22  As I feasted at His banqueting table in Ireland, God unfolded before me the entire 23rd Psalm through the beautiful surroundings. The entire chapter offers peace and so much more. Look at what He has promised us.

The Lord is my shepherd.

safe_imageDay 21  One of the most powerful things God revealed to me that brought peace was two years after an 11-year business battle. I heard Joel Osteen speak on Psalm 23:5, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” God will honor you in high places and your enemies will come and shake your hand. I had no idea how that applied to me until a few months later. I not only won a very unexpected trip to Ireland but God honored me with huge rewards literally at a banqueting table right in front of my enemies and yes, they even congratulated me.

Day 20 Welcome to Peace, Within your Reach

safe_imageDay 20  Let’s take a look at some of the secrets to peace that we have talked about in this series so far: Peace is offered when we:
1. Practice forgiveness

2. Focus on Him

3. Trust in His promises

4. Take our requests to Him, with thanksgiving

5. Develop the attitude of gratitude, focusing on the positive things.

Jesus lays it out so simply, yet somehow we tend to make it so complicated.

Day 19 Welcome to Peace, Within your Reach

Day 19 Then verse 8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things. The things that you have learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and what’s the promise – the God of peace will be with you. As we develop that attitude of gratitude and focus on the positive things, the God of peace will be with us. What more could we ask? This is God’s abundance that He desires for us to enjoy.

Day 18 Welcome to Peace, Within your Reach

Day 18 Philippians 4:6, 7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
In other words all He is asking us to do is to trust Him. We are not to worry. Just take our requests to Jesus, thank Him for what He is going to do and in exchange He is going to give us “the peace of God.”

Day 17 Welcome to Peace, Within your Reach

Day 17  Jesus said to the disciples, “I will meet you on the other side.” That was a promise. But when they were in the middle of the storm, they forgot His promise. Recently, as I faced a major emotional storm, I got caught up in the fear and much like the disciples, was completely overwhelmed. The next morning I was reminded that Jesus had carried me through much bigger storms in my life and He will carry me through this one too. I had peace.  How many times has He given us a promise and we have forgotten it. Marsha Burns says, “This is your time to walk on the water, on top of the waves, and not drown in the storms of life.”

Day 16 Welcome to Peace, Within your Reach Day

Day 16 Mark 6:51 & 52 says, Those that were in the boat were “great amazed in themselves beyond measure, and marveled. For they had not understood about the loaves because their heart was hardened.” With the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus set them up to look to Him, just like He needed Peter to look to Him when he was sinking, … but they didn’t get it because their hearts were hardened. I wonder how many times, we don’t hear Him because our hearts are not in the right place.safe_image

Day 15 Welcome to Peace, Within your Reach

Day 15  Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him and said, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. When Jesus took Peter’s hand, he was safe. Our security lies in Him and Him alone. As long as Peter was focused on Jesus, there was peace. Peace is not found in our change of circumstances, it is found when we are completely dependent and focused on Jesus.safe_image

safe_imageDay 14 Peter then asked Jesus.  “If this is You, command me to come to You on the water.” Jesus said, “Come” … so Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water to meet Jesus. He was doing fine as long as He focused on Jesus. The minute he focused on the boisterous water, in other words, the circumstances, he began to drown. Then he cried out, “Lord, save me!”  Jesus could have rescued Him before He cried out but He needed Peter to look to Him.
